Main Functions: The Tour Guide Supervisor supervises and co-ordinates the activities of the other tour guides, and with the other departments of the company, reporting directly to the owner.
Duties:
The Tour Guide Supervisor performs the following duties:
• Work both alongside and lead a team of tour guides
• Train tour guides in required job duties, safety procedures and company protocols
• Ensure company standards and protocols are achieved
• Co-ordinate work schedules
• Assign work projects
• Review staff performance, provide feedback
• Resolve work related issues
• Establish and maintain good lines of communication between tour guides and company owners, also between various company departments
• Prepare and submit daily trip reports
• Inspect passenger vehicles, perform light maintenance and co-ordinate regular servicing at licensed facilities
• Establish and maintain protocols for great guest service
• Be proactive and creative – contribute with new ideas and service advantages
Work Conditions
Work weeks are 5 days, 40 hours a week, weekends may be required
Pay rate is $15.75/hour
Employment Requirements.
- Completion of a related guiding or leadership qualification course
- Experience as a Tour Guide Supervisor and previous tour guiding experience
- Office and administration experience
- Experience driving large vehicles, both manual and standard
- Exceptional communication skills
- Punctual, meticulous and reliable
- Good trouble shooting skills
- High level of customer service skills
