We are seeking a manager to develop and implements strategic Sports Marketing programs for our North American market. As the key in-house communications liaison for sponsored Athletes, event partners, partner companies, and partner associations, this position builds and manages relationships and opportunities between marketing partners and Arc’teryx, then leverages these partnerships to develop brand awareness in all markets. Must be able to partake in extensive travel and work frequent weekends.
Ideally you will have:
• Previous experience in outdoor retail; as well as 2+ years in Marketing or Sports Marketing for similar outdoor equipment companies and/or Consumer Event Management experience
• Participation in activities we make products for
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Effective problem solver, organized, outgoing demeanor and positive, can-do attitude
• Creative eye and innovative thinker
• Demonstrated project management and planning experience
• Intermediate to Advanced MS Office skills; exceptional public speaking skills and experience.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
• Devise, develop, implement and manage Sports Marketing Events and coordination of these events with Partners
• Develop communications strategies and planning with cooperative dealer network (catalogues, web, CRM,etc)
• Build relationships and oversee promotional strategies with key cooperative dealers
• Administer the cooperative dealer budget and manage company-dealer alliances
• Manage co-ordination and administration of the overall Sponsorship program
• Sponsored organization management, co-ordination and administration
• Manage sponsored Athletes program; evaluating Athletes, and identifying and implementing Athlete marketing opportunities
• Strategize and build co-branding opportunities with other interested companies
• Liaise Athlete product testing program with R&D
• Maintain, encourage, inspire and build relationships with Athletes
• Manage coordination of Athlete Focus Groups
• Budget external communication of key events, partnerships, Athlete’s, cooperative promotions
• Work with Public Relation companies and Marketing Team to achieve the communications strategies Devise, develop, implement and manage Dealer Camps and coordination of these Events with contractors and partners.
